Moroccan Style Biscotti

I made these for Eid al Adha, I changed up the recipe a bit to fit what I had on hand.
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking soda.
1 cup sugar
6 dates, diced.
1 stick sweet cream butter or shortening.
3 eggs.
pinch of salt
1 cup pistachios.
2 tablespoons sesame seeds.
1 tablespoon anise seeds.
1 teaspoon cinnamon.

How2:
Preheat the oven to 350df.
chop the pistachios set them aside.
To a large bowl add soft butter or the shortening, anise seeds, sesame seeds, eggs.
Mix together.
Add sugar, mix well.
Add in the cinnamon followed by flour little at a time, and the chopped dates.
mix until a dough comes together with a little extra flour form a huge ball of dough, place on a tray or table with flour under it.
Cut the dough into 2 smaller balls.
Set one aside and form them both into a log shape.
Place on a baking sheet, I covered mines with foil and some oil.
Reform the shape of the logs on the pan.
Bake for 30mins, until its firm.
Allow them to cool slightly, cut them with a bread knife to your desired thickness, I prefer them thin.
place the cut cookies back on the baking sheet and bake on both sides until golden this takes about another 15mins.
Serve with some tea or coffee. ENJOY!
