Authentic Lentil Rice (mujadarah/imdaridrah)



2 cup basmati rice 
4 cups water 
2 teaspoons salt
1 large white onion sliced
2 cup brown lentils. 


How2:
In a pot sautee onions until brown caramelized and a lil crispy. Set a side add water and lentils to pan boil until lentils are tender but not split.
mesure out the liquid the lentils have made you need 4 cups you may notice you have less broth because the lentils have absorbed it.
After you have mesured out the liquid add thelentils back in bring to a boil. add salt.
Add rice lower heat cover and cook until rice is fluffy and no more liquid. plate and top with the onions.
