Mini Apple Pies


  • Crust:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup water

  • Filling:
  • 5 apples, peeled diced.
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2/3 cups brown sugar
  • 1/3 cups sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon





  • How2:
  • Crust:
  • In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in water until mixture forms a ball. Wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for 3 hours or overnight.Roll out dough on a floured counter. Don't over work it. with a cup or round cookie cutter cut out 12 rounds.
  • place each round in a greased muffin pan. bake at 450df for 10mins.
  • set aside while you make the filling.

  • Filling:
  • in saucepan add brown sugar, cinnamon,white sugar, flour bring to simmer.
  • add apples , simmer slightly for 10mins. turn heat off.

Assembly: after baking the pie crust for 10mins add about 1 tablespoon 1/2 of filling per dough cup. add in extra liquid.Bake for 15-20mins  on 350 df until dough slightly brown and apple liquid thickens.
