Lobia bil zait (Green beans in oil)

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 medium onion or  sliced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 bags frozen  or fresh green beans
  • 1 bag  small Lima beans
  • 1 head garlic ,the cloves removed but keep in the peels
  • 3 cups water
  • 3 medium tomatoes, diced
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

How2:

In a deep pot add 1/2 of the oil, on med-low heat cook the onions until slightly golden and soft.
Once onions are cooked add green beans and Lima beans.cook for about 15mins.
Followed by the tomatoes, garlic cloves salt and tomato paste.
Add water mix well, Bring to a boil then cover.
cook for 45-50 Min's covered on low heat.
The beans will become tender the tomatoes will cook down and form a beautiful sauce. The garlic coves will be come super sweet. If you prefer to cook them with peels off ,its fine i leave them on so they stay whole while cooking.when you push the garlic they pop right out of the peels and taste amazing.

I serve it with raw onion, pita bread and bell peppers. Eat hot or cold. Enjoy!
