
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 cup water
1 tablespoon yeast
1 tablespoon sugar
1 /2 cup warm water
1 tablespoon natural food color ( i use Amarillo or saffron powder) Optional
oil for frying
Atir (Arabic syrup)
How2:
In a bowl combined 1/2 cup warm water with yeast and sugar. mix it in the flour, add corn starch and 1 cup regular water. set aside in warm place to allow it to double in size.
place a pot of oil on med heat.
place batter in a zip lock bag or a empty ketchup bottle.
pour batter into hot oil swirl to form a web shape. fry on both sides until golden remove place in bowl of Atir allow to absorb for few Min's place on serving plate. repeat until all are complete. ENJOY!
I have always seen these in the halal markets and never knew what they were.
